Pramit Maakoday Honored with Global Equity, Social Innovation, and Wellness Award at Nobel Peace Center, Norway

Oslo, Norway : In a prestigious ceremony held at Mandela Hall in the Nobel Peace Center, Oslo, Pramit Maakoday, President of the Global Citizen Forum and Co-Founder of the Boston Center of Excellence for Health and Human Development, was honored with the Award for Excellence in Global Equity, Social Innovation, and Wellness.

The award was presented by Kristin Engvig, President of the Women International Network (WIN), in recognition of Maakoday’s lifelong dedication to advancing equitable systems in healthcare, education, women’s empowerment, and clean energy. WIN, based in Switzerland and active globally, recognized his contributions as transformative and rooted in inclusive, scalable innovation.

The ceremony coincided with International Day of Yoga, a global observance initiated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which is now celebrated in over 150 countries. The event paid tribute to yoga’s role in global preventive health and wellness.

Addressing a distinguished audience, Maakoday stated, “We must harmonize ancient wisdom with modern innovation to build integrated ecosystems for mental, spiritual, and physical (MSP) well-being. When people, process, and purpose align, true transformation is possible across all boundaries.”

He emphasized placing women’s leadership at the heart of sustainable global development. Maakoday’s vision reflects the values championed by global wellness and peace leaders such as Padma Dr. H.R. Nagendra, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Sadhguru, Baba Ramdev, Rajrishi Dr. B.K. Modi, and Padma Shri Dr. Sudhir Parikh.
