ICAI UK Hosts Landmark Inaugural Annual Conference in London
London: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) UK Chapter organized the conference brought together over 500 professionals, fostering dialogue, collaboration, and forward-looking insights across industries.
The first-ever ICAI UK Annual Conference was successfully held at the iconic Hilton London Metropole, marking a significant milestone for the Indian-origin chartered accountant community in the United Kingdom. Conceptualized five months ago under the leadership of Chairperson CA Ajay Kumar ACA (India), FCMA, CGMA, MBA, and strongly supported by the committee, the event set a high benchmark for future editions.
A major highlight of the event was the keynote leadership address by Anil Agarwal, who delivered an engaging and candid talk infused with his trademark humour. He emphasized the growing influence and responsibility of chartered accountants, particularly those of Indian origin, in shaping global financial ecosystems.
Adding further depth to the conference, Dr. (CA) Ankur Aggarwal shared a compelling and honest account of his professional journey, inspiring attendees with his perspective on resilience and growth.
The conference featured a series of insightful panel discussions covering key global themes, including the UK–India Free Trade Agreement, the intersection of Money, Mindset & the Metaverse, and the transformation from traditional tools like Excel to advanced AI-driven systems. These conversations underscored the evolving role of finance professionals in a rapidly changing world.
Participants also benefited from diverse viewpoints shared by Indian-origin CAs, particularly around education, skill development, and future-readiness—areas increasingly critical in a globalized economy.
