- International Yoga Day 2025
Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh celebrated the 11th International Day of Yoga with unprecedented enthusiasm, setting 21 World Book of Records in a single day and earning global acclaim for its massive participation and coordination.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the grand event at the iconic RK Beach in Visakhapatnam, performing yoga alongside Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Union Ministers, and thousands of citizens. The highlight was the gathering of 3.03 lakh people at the venue, setting a world record for the largest number of people performing yoga at a single location.

Addressing the media after the event, CM Chandrababu Naidu announced the remarkable feat and expressed pride in Andhra Pradesh’s dedication to wellness and unity through yoga. He revealed that the state achieved 21 recognitions from the World Book of Records, officially confirmed by WBR officials Rajesh Shukla, Dr. Rajeev Shrivastav, and Dr. U. Eliyazar.

Another major record was set by 22,000 tribal students, who performed 108 Surya Namaskars in 108 minutes at one location, showcasing the state’s inclusive and disciplined approach toward the promotion of traditional practices.

Naidu shared that while the government initially estimated about 2 crore registrations for yoga participation across Andhra Pradesh, the actual number surged to 2.45 crore, reflecting widespread public interest and commitment to health and harmony.
This year’s International Yoga Day celebration in Andhra Pradesh has not only reinforced India’s cultural legacy but also set a new global benchmark for collective wellness practices, inclusivity, and record-breaking public participation.
