  • Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment, Government of India, Dr. Mansukh L. Mandaviya, felicitated Mann Sharma

New Delhi/India:

In a monumental display of endurance, determination, and purpose, Indian athlete and adventurer Mann Sharma has made history by completing the world’s first-ever Burpees Marathon, covering an astounding 42.195 kilometres entirely through broad burpees over nine consecutive days at the Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium, New Delhi.

This unprecedented feat has been officially recognized by World Book of Records UK setting a new global record that surpasses the previous benchmark of 5.1 kilometres — a record Mann himself had broken on the very first day of his challenge. Abhishek Kaushik and Mohit Sharma World Book of Records Adjudicators were present at the venue to formally ratify the record. Apoorva Menon and Priya Sharma Chartered Officers of WBR bestowed the certificate to Mann Sharma at grand closing ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Mandaviya said,

“Mann Sharma’s extraordinary achievement is a matter of immense pride for the nation. Completing a 42.195 km Burpees Marathon is not just a record — it is a triumph of discipline, determination, and human willpower. His remarkable feat serves as an inspiration to India’s youth, showing that with perseverance, no goal is beyond reach. Mann has not only created history but also strengthened Bharat’s resolve to make fitness a way of life.”

Expressing his emotions after achieving the milestone, Mann Sharma shared,

“This has been the most challenging and fulfilling experience of my life. My goal was to push the limits of human endurance and prove that consistency can conquer the impossible. Every burpee was a reminder that true strength lies in the mind and heart. This record isn’t just about endurance — it’s about purpose. Through this, I aimed to raise funds and awareness for The One Friend NGO to support the education of underprivileged children across India. I am deeply grateful to the Sports Ministry, Fit India, my team, my sponsors, and every supporter who believed in this mission. This record belongs to all of us.”

Apoorva Menon from World Book of Records hailed Mann Sharma’s achievement as a “phenomenal and unprecedented milestone in the history of human endurance”, commending India for producing such a trailblazing athlete whose innovation and spirit continue to inspire the global fitness community.

The Mann vs Burpees Challenge, organized by Question Associates in collaboration with Fit India and officially recognized by the Sports Authority of India (SAI), has redefined the boundaries of endurance and resilience. Over nine days, Mann lived and trained inside the stadium, performing thousands of burpees each day to complete the marathon distance — motivating millions to pursue fitness with purpose. The event was supported by Junior Age, India’s leading kids’ newspaper and title sponsor, with MuscleBlaze and Brown Sugar providing essential nutrition and recovery support.
