Yogandhra 2026: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu receives World Book of Records recognition for Massive Public Participation
Andhra Pradesh’s Flagship Yoga Movement Crosses 1.07 Crore Registrations, Promoting Health, Wellness, and Holistic Living
Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh: Andhra Pradesh Government’s flagship wellness initiative Yogandhra 2026 has received international recognition from World Book of Records for its extraordinary public participation and successful promotion of yoga across the state. The official recognition certificate was presented to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Baba Ramdev, Indian Yoga Guru and Acharya Balkrishna, Managing Director of Patanjali Ayurved in Vijayawada by Dr. Ullaji Eliazer, Joint Secretary (South Region), World Book of Records.

The achievement marks a significant milestone in Andhra Pradesh’s efforts to transform yoga into a mass movement for health, fitness, and mental well-being. While the state government had initially set a target of engaging 1.05 crore yoga enthusiasts, the campaign surpassed expectations with more than 1.07 crore registrations, demonstrating unprecedented public participation.

Launched under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Yogandhra 2026 was conducted as a statewide campaign leading up to International Yoga Day 2026. The initiative featured yoga sessions, awareness programmes, competitions, demonstrations, and training activities across districts, mandals, villages, educational institutions, tourist destinations, and community centres throughout Andhra Pradesh.

State Health and AYUSH Minister Satyakumar Yadav credited the success of the programme to the collective efforts of government officials, yoga trainers, volunteers, gurus, and millions of participants who embraced the vision of making yoga a part of daily life. Thousands of yoga instructors and a vast network of yoga centres played a crucial role in mobilizing participation across the state.

The initiative aligns with the government’s broader vision of creating a healthier Andhra Pradesh through preventive healthcare, wellness awareness, and community engagement. The World Book of Records recognition further highlights Andhra Pradesh’s growing role as a leader in promoting yoga, holistic health, and public well-being on a large scale.
