The record was achieved when approximately 570 organ transplant recipients and organ donors came together to perform Tadasana (Mountain Pose) simultaneously, setting a remarkable world record for the Largest Congregation of Transplant Recipients and Donors Performing Tadasana. The World Book of Records, New Delhi, formally recognised this exceptional collective achievement and issued the certificate.

The National Organ Transplant Games 2026 brought together transplant recipients, donors, healthcare professionals, families and supporters from across the country. Organised through the collaborative efforts of the Renal Care Foundation, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO), the initiative aimed to promote organ donation awareness while celebrating the remarkable journeys of people who have received a second chance at life.

Addressing the gathering, Vice-President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan described organ donation as Mahadaan, emphasising that it represents the highest expression of compassion and selfless service. He highlighted that one deceased organ donor can save up to eight lives and urged citizens to overcome misconceptions, make informed decisions and communicate their wishes about organ donation to their families. He also acknowledged the contribution of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in strengthening public awareness through his Mann Ki Baat addresses.

This remarkable recognition by World Book of Records stands as a powerful tribute to humanity, courage, resilience and the life-changing impact of organ donation, inspiring society to embrace the message that every organ donor can become a reason for someone else’s second chance at life.
