–         “Nashe Se Doori Hai Zaroori 2.0” Campaign Achieves Historic Success with Two World Record Claims in a Single Event, as Thousands Unite to Promote a Drug-Free Society

–         Police Commissioner IPS Santosh Kumar Singh Presents a New World Record Claim for Simultaneously Addressing and Creating Drug Awareness Among 8,534 Participants

Indore, Madhya Pradesh: With the objective of creating a drug-free society by raising awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse among youth and the public, the Indore Police Commissionerate, under the leadership of Police Commissioner IPs Santosh Kumar Singh, organized a historic, inspirational, and unprecedented public awareness programme as part of its “Nashe Se Doori Hai Zaroori 2.0 (Say No to Drugs)” campaign.

During the event, 8,534 students, members of social organizations, athletes, members of the City Security Committee, police officers, police personnel, and citizens came together to form a massive human chain against drug abuse, thereby establishing a new world record.

With this remarkable achievement, the Indore Police Commissionerate surpassed its own previous world record. Earlier, Indore Police had set a world record by forming a human chain comprising 7,100 participants to spread awareness against drug abuse. This time, the overwhelming participation of 8,534 citizens created a new milestone, reflecting Indore’s collective commitment towards building a drug-free society.

World Book of Records certificate for the achievement was presented to Police Commissioner IPS Santosh Kumar Singh by Apoorva Menon, Editor, World Book of Records, and Palash Shukla. The programme was not merely about creating a record but emerged as a powerful people’s movement promoting awareness against drug abuse. The participation of thousands of individuals standing together to spread the message symbolized Indore’s unwavering resolve to build a healthier and drug-free future.

The ceremony was attended by Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime/Headquarters) R.K. Singh, Additional Commissioner of Police (Law & Order) Mayank Awasthi, Deputy Commissioners of Police, Additional Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, Station House Officers, officers and personnel from the Police Training College and RAPTC, students and teachers from various schools, colleges, and educational institutions, athletes from physical academies, trainee doctors from medical colleges, representatives of social organizations, members of the City Security Committee, social media influencers, media representatives, and a large number of distinguished citizens. All participants unanimously resolved to continue spreading awareness against drug abuse and work collectively towards eliminating this social menace.

The “Nashe Se Doori Hai Zaroori 2.0” campaign, spearheaded by the Indore Police Commissionerate, continues to reach schools, colleges, coaching institutions, residential communities, social organizations, and various sections of society, spreading the message of drug awareness. Today’s historic event stands among the campaign’s greatest achievements, demonstrating that when society and the police unite with a common purpose, they do not merely create change they create history.
