Dr. Mahak Bhandari included in World Book of Records for Transcontinental Tele-Robotic Surgery Milestone

Indore, Madhya Pradesh: Dr. Mahak Bhandari, Managing Director of Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences (SAIMS), Indore, has been included in World Book of Records for achieving a remarkable milestone in transcontinental tele-robotic surgery.

Dr. Bhandari became the first surgeon to perform 12 consecutive transcontinental tele-robotic surgeries, comprising 09 complex hernia surgeries and 03 cholecystectomies, conducted remotely from France to India in under 10 hours on 26 August 2026.

World Book of Records formally recognized the achievement during a ceremony held on 08 September 2026 at the C.P. Tiwari Auditorium, SAIMS Campus, Indore. The certificate was bestowed upon Dr. Mahak Bhandari by World Book of Records Chartered Officers Rajeev Shrivastava and Apoorva Menon.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Vinod Bhandari, Dr. Manjushree Bhandari, Dr. Mohit Bhandari, Dr. Shilpa Bhandari, Dr. Shweta Bhandari along with professors, medical professionals and staff members of SAIMS.
