United States: Representing India, DIG (Community Policing) Dr. Vineet Kapoor, IPS, delivered a keynote address before delegates from more than 70 countries, highlighting Madhya Pradesh Police’s innovative initiatives that integrate human rights principles into law enforcement and community policing. His presentation showcased successful programmes such as Women’s Help Desks, Nagar Raksha Samitis, Shakti Samitis, and Project Srijan, which promote access to justice, public participation, and citizen-centric policing.

Under the visionary leadership of Director General of Police Shri Kailash Makwana, Madhya Pradesh Police’s human rights-based and community-centric policing model has received international recognition at the World Human Rights Summit held at the United Nations Headquarters.

The summit witnessed widespread appreciation for these initiatives, with international delegates recognizing them as scalable and replicable models for strengthening human rights and community engagement in policing.

A key highlight of the presentation was the state-wide anti-drug awareness campaign, “Nashe Se Doori Hai Zaroori 2.0”, which was specially acknowledged for its unprecedented public participation and innovative approach to promoting a drug-free society through awareness drives, youth engagement, and community outreach.

Dr. Kapoor was also felicitated at the summit for his longstanding contributions to human rights education, community policing, and capacity building. The recognition reflects Madhya Pradesh Police’s continued commitment to people-centric governance and reinforces India’s leadership in promoting human rights-based policing practices on the global stage.
