South Asian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SACCI) Announces Multi-Sector Trade & Investment Mission to Uganda in February 2026
Kampala / Uganda: South Asian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SACCI) has announced a high-level Multi-Sector Trade & Investment Mission to Uganda, scheduled to take place from 17th to 21st February 2026 in Kampala. The initiative aims to strengthen bilateral trade, investment, and long-term partnerships between South Asia and Uganda under the theme “South Asia Meets Uganda: Building the Future of Trade.”
Uganda has emerged as a strategic destination for South Asian businesses due to its strong economic growth, investor-friendly policies, and access to East and Central African markets through EAC and COMESA. The mission is designed to provide direct engagement with Ugandan government ministries, regulators, financial institutions, industrial parks, and private-sector leaders.
According to trade data for 2024, India’s exports to Uganda reached approximately USD 455 million, comprising vehicles, pharmaceuticals, machinery, plastics, and electrical equipment, while Uganda’s exports to India stood at USD 464 million, largely driven by coffee, tea, spices, agricultural produce, and precious stones. India–Africa trade has crossed USD 100 billion, highlighting the growing importance of Africa as a strategic economic partner.
The mission will focus on priority sectors including renewable energy, minerals and industrial value addition, affordable housing, agriculture and food processing, manufacturing, ICT & BPO services, tourism, and hospitality development. Delegates will explore opportunities in solar and hydropower projects, agri-value chains, industrial park manufacturing, fintech, digital services, and eco-tourism.
Key engagements during the mission include meetings with the Ministers of Trade, Energy, Agriculture, senior presidential advisors, leading banks such as Absa Bank Uganda and PostBank, as well as site visits to Namanve and Namukekera Industrial Parks.
The mission is jointly coordinated by Mahendrasinh C. Jadeja (Dada), Chairman – International Business & Trade Affairs, South Asian Chamber of Commerce & Industry, with Willy Mutenza, Chairman of the UK–Africa Business Summit and ThePromota Africa Group, serving as the Uganda-Africa host. V. D. Jadeja will act as the Indian Delegation Coordinator.
