
Rare Medicinal Plant Species Plantation Drive at Government Holkar Science College to Be Honoured by World Book of Records
Indore: In a significant step toward environmental conservation and biodiversity revival, Government Holkar Science College, Indore, will host a unique plantation drive featuring rare, endangered, and threatened (RET) medicinal plant species that have become extinct or severely diminished in the state of Madhya Pradesh. These forest species hold immense medicinal value and are being reintroduced to the region through this initiative.
It will be recognized and honored by World Book of Records, marking a milestone in ecological and botanical efforts in central India. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Sanjay Vyas and Advo Santosh Shukla, President & CEO of World Book of Records, highlighted the importance of this initiative. They emphasized that the plantation of such RET species is not only a step toward preserving nature but also supports traditional and modern medicine systems.
As part of the ceremony, IFS Pradeep Mishra, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) will be felicitated with the “Certificate of Excellence” for their contributions to public service and environmental awareness. Rajesh Lal Mehra, Chairman, MPPSC, Prabal Sipaha (IAS), Secretary, MPPSC, Rajeev Singh (IRS), Principal Commissioner, Indian Customs, Kamal Singh Dabi, Superintendent, Indian Customs & CGST, Government of India, Prateek Singh, Superintendent, Indian Customs & GST, Government of India and Dr. Suresh Silawat, Principal, Government Holkar Science College will be the Prominent dignitaries to attend the plantation. It reflects a strong collaboration between government bodies, environmental experts, and academic institutions to restore critical ecological balance and promote awareness about the medicinal value of India’s native plant species.
