Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde Confers World Book of Records Certificate for Historic Mass Voters’ Pledge

Jaipur/Rajasthan: Governor Shri Haribhau Bagde bestowed the Certificate of World Book of Records upon the Naveen Mahajan IAS, Chief Electoral Officer of Rajasthan in recognition of organizing a historic Mass Pledge to Vote on the occasion of the 16th National Voters’ Day. The initiative was conducted under the logo “My India, My Vote” and the theme “Indian Citizen at the Heart of Indian Democracy.”

The record-setting ceremony took place on 23 January 2026 at 9:15 A.M. during a Mega Teacher–Parent Meeting organized by the School Education Department under the SVEEP (Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation) programme. Through Electoral Literacy Clubs across schools throughout the state of Rajasthan, an unprecedented 10.3 million people collectively took the Voters’ Pledge, marking one of the largest democratic participation initiatives of its kind.

In addition, the District Election Officer was also recognized for successfully conducting a Voter Pledge Ceremony across all sub-divisions and tehsil offices of the district, various government departments, and through Booth Level Officers (BLOs). This district-wide effort culminated in a central ceremony held at Commerce College, Jaipur, on 23 January 2026 at 9:15 A.M., where approximately 950,000 citizens took the Voters’ Pledge.

The achievement stands as a significant milestone in strengthening voter awareness and democratic participation, reinforcing the spirit of inclusive democracy in Rajasthan and across India.
