Indore: For planting the most seedlings at a single location in a single hour, Col. Pratul Thapliyal, Commanding Officer of 128 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) Ecological, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, was recognized with a World Book of Records award. At a special occasion in Indore, Madhya Pradesh Governor Hon. Shri Mangubhai C. Patel presented the congratulations.
Col. Pratul Thapliyal’s continuous dedication to environmental protection is demonstrated by the vast number of seedlings he planted at the Military Station, Jaisalmer, in just one hour. The occasion raised environmental awareness within the military community in addition to making a major environmental improvement. Col. Thapliyal’s efforts to conserve the environment were particularly acknowledged at the felicitation ceremony. His tree planting initiative prompted people to raise their awareness of environmental issues and brought attention to the need for a green movement in society.
The dignitaries who attended the ceremony included Renaissance University Chancellor Shri Swapnil Kothari, Collector Ashish Singh IAS, Hon’ble Justice V.K. Shukla, Madhya Pradesh High Court Bench, eminent educationist Prof. Dr. Rajeev Sharma, and Shri Simon N. Owens D.L., Representative of HM The King Charles III and Deputy Lieutenant of London. The event was also attended by prominent figures from the United States, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Nepal, Dubai, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Romania, Canada, Mauritius, and 25 Indian states.
