In the realm of international spirituality, Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena stands out as a shining star. As the founder of the Mahabodhi Interna- tional Meditation Centre in Leh, India, he has dedicated his life to spreading the teachings of Theravada Buddhism and promoting global peace and harmony. Born on January 7, 1958, in the remote village of Tingmosgang, Ladakh, Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena embarked on a spiritual journey under the guidance of the late Venerable Acharya Buddharakkhita. Following in his teacher’s footsteps, he established the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre in Leh, India, which has since grown into a multifaceted institution with a range of socio-cultural and community programs. Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena’s tireless efforts have led to several remarkable achievements, including Organizing a mass meditation at Pangong Lake, which was recognized by the World Book of Records, Leading a 33-day Padh Yatra (Peace Walk) from Dharamsala to Leh, covering 665 kilometers with 1500 lay devotees and 70 venerable monks from Thailand & Hosting a mass yoga demonstration at the high- est altitude with the maximum number of participants at Pangong Tso lake in Leh, India. Through his work, Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena contin- ues to inspire and guide countless individuals on their own spiritual jour- neys, leaving a lasting impact on the world. His dedication to spreading peace and harmony is a beacon of hope in these turbulent times.
