At just 8 years old, Dr. Basant Goel began a journey that would define his future and touch countless lives. Sitting in his grandfather’s medical shop, he immersed himself in the world of medicines, acquiring knowledge that became the foundation for his future ventures. Today, Dr. Goel is not only a successful entrepreneur but also a compassionate philanthropist known as the “King of Medicines.” Fueled by an intense passion for pharmacy, Dr. Goel earned a B. Pharma degree and later completed a doctorate in Pharmacy from a prestigious East Coast university in the United States. He always viewed pharmacy not just as a business but as a social service meant to benefit the community. One of Dr. Goel’s notable contributions is offering free consultations to thousands of patients each year. Understanding the financial difficulties faced by some, he also provides free medications to those in need and donates medicines to various hospitals. His pharmacy’s excellent service and free consultation efforts during the pandemic earned him recognition from the World Book of Records (London) and a certificate of appreciation for his dedication to fighting COVID-19.
Beyond pharmacy, he is known for his dedication to underprivileged members of society. During festivals like Holi and Diwali, he spends time with children suffering from leprosy. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he oversaw the dignified cremation of individuals, showcasing his selfless service to humanity. Dr. Goel’s exceptional work in pharmacy has been widely recognized. He has received numerous awards, including the title of Best Pharmacy in the World from Indian actress and Member of Parliament Hema Malini, along with recognition from 20 cabinet ministers of the Indian government and 50 BJP parliament members. The Indian Pharmaceutical Association has also honored him for his exemplary practices in pharmacy management, particularly for organizing the maximum number of people donating blood at a single camp in 16 hours.
Despite significant accolades, Dr. Goel continues to work tirelessly for societal improvement. His recent initiative involved organizing a marriage event for 51 economically disadvantaged couples, complete with traditional ceremonies, food, and distribution of domestic essentials as part of kanyadaan. The event received blessings and participation from renowned Hindu saints, Saint Ramdev Baba Ji, Saint Baba Bageshwar Ji, and Saint Ramlala Ji. The Siddhashram Shakti Centre in Surat honored Dr. Goel with the “London Books of Record” for his outstanding contributions. His journey from a young boy in his grandfather’s medical shop to the King of Medicines and a respected philanthropist is a testament to the transformative power of dedication and compassion.
