The Nepal Cancer Niwaran Pratisthan officially unveiled its Calendar for the year 2083 amidst a grand ceremony
Kathmandu: The launch event was attended by distinguished personalities from various sectors. On the occasion, several individuals were also honored for their contributions. The program witnessed notable participation from senior members of society, health experts, social workers, and other eminent personalities. The event was held under the chief guestship of Members of the Federal Parliament including Indira Rana Magar, Dr. Dhananjay Regmi, Bharat Giri, Ramesh Kumar Malla, Kshitij Thebe, Reena Upreti (KC), Radhika Ramtel, and Ambika Devi Sangraula.

Special guests included Chief Executive of World Book of Records, Santosh Shukla, Vikram Trivedi, Sanjeev Dubey, Senior social worker Sur Bahadur Shrestha, and social activist Prakash Kaji Shakya. The speakers appreciated the organization’s role in raising cancer awareness and suggested expanding impactful programs in the future. During the event, the organization honored various individuals who have contributed to supporting cancer patients, improving access to treatment, and promoting awareness campaigns. The awardees expressed that such initiatives would spread positive messages in society.

The main objective of the program was to raise awareness about cancer and further strengthen the organization’s activities. The calendar includes health-related messages, cancer prevention measures, and important information. The event was successfully conducted in a warm and cordial environment. On the occasion of the New Year 2083, the organization also hosted a special program aimed at promoting social harmony and health awareness. The event saw participation from representatives of various sectors, medical professionals, social workers, and members affiliated with the organization.

Participants exchanged New Year wishes and expressed their commitment to move forward with positivity and a spirit of service. Speaking at the program, officials of the organization shared plans to make cancer awareness campaigns more effective and informed about upcoming initiatives such as free health camps, awareness programs, and collaborative campaigns. Similarly, a Diary Launch and Felicitation Program was also organized on the occasion of the New Year 2083, with the presence of several distinguished personalities. The organization released its annual diary, aiming to spread awareness about cancer prevention, treatment, and control.

On this occasion, individuals who made significant contributions in health, social service, and awareness campaigns were honored. The chief guest highlighted the importance of awareness, timely diagnosis, and access to treatment in fighting cancer and appreciated the organization’s efforts. Other speakers also expressed confidence that such programs would positively impact society.

The officials of the organization reiterated their commitment to continue organizing various programs to control cancer and enhance public awareness in the coming days. The program concluded in a friendly and inspiring atmosphere, with participants describing it as fruitful and motivating. Marking the New Year 2083, the organization also conducted a “No Smoking” sticker distribution campaign in Kathmandu. The program aimed to raise public awareness about health, with active participation from the general public, students, and representatives of various organizations.

Participants were educated about the harmful effects of smoking, and “No Smoking” stickers were distributed. Officials encouraged everyone to adopt a healthy lifestyle in the New Year and to quit smoking, highlighting that smoking can lead to cancer and other serious diseases. Stickers were also placed in public places, educational institutions, and transportation vehicles to spread awareness.

Organizers expressed confidence that this campaign would deliver a positive message to society and energize anti-smoking efforts at the beginning of the New Year. Speaking at the calendar launch event, Chairman Hari Gopal Pradhan welcomed the guests and highlighted the organization’s objectives. He expressed gratitude to all those who supported the publication of the calendar.

He stated, “Through this Cancer Prevention Foundation, we have been conducting awareness programs and health camps related to cancer in various locations from time to time. It is evident that Nepal has excellent cancer doctors and healthcare services.” He further urged government representatives to facilitate financial support of up to NPR 500,000 for cancer treatment, stating that such assistance would provide relief to financially disadvantaged patients.

The program, chaired by Chairman Hari Gopal Pradhan, was attended by Senior Vice President Nirnaya Shrestha (NSK), Vice President Dil Sagar Katwal, General Secretary Dr. Sarisha Shrestha, Chief Program Officer Yubika Shrestha, Office Assistant Abhisha Rasaili, and Office Assistant Sagar Shrestha. The event also saw the presence of celebrities including Miss Nepal Luna Luittel and Miss Eco International Sejal Rajbhandari (Goodwill Ambassador of the organization), among others.

Certificates were presented to partner organizations and sponsors who have collaborated with the foundation.
