For most people plant saplings simultaneously in a single venue at Military Station, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan,India in one hour on 22 September 2024.
Jaisalmer, Rajasthan – In a remarkable environmental effort, the 128 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) Ecological, Rajputana Rifles, Shri Mohangarh, along with Jaisalmer Military Station, has achieved a new world record for the most people simultaneously planting tree saplings at a single venue. The event, held at Military Station Jaisalmer, saw thousands of participants plant saplings within one hour, earning recognition from the World Book of Records (WBR), United Kingdom. The record-setting event was organized as part of a large-scale initiative to promote environmental sustainability and community involvement. The WBR certificate was officially presented to Major General HS Bajaj, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 12 RAPID, by Mr. Santosh Shukla, President and CEO of World Book of Records, and Dr. Suchita Shukla, Chief Editor of Alma Times, in the presence of dignitaries and guests. This accomplishment highlights the dedication of the Indian Army and the local community towards ecological conservation. Major General HS Bajaj expressed gratitude for the global recognition, underscoring the importance of such initiatives in safeguarding the environment for future generations. Lt Gen Raju Baijal, SM, Director General of the Territorial Army; Maj Gen SS Patil, VSM, Additional Director General of the Territorial Army; Shri AK Mohanty, Additional Director General (Forests) of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC); and Col Pratul Thapliyal. Together, these pillars of the initiative played pivotal roles in steering the drive to success.
